The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit our website www.quizzardapp.com and when you use our cross-platform browser extension.

In principle, we will only use your personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection laws, in particular Canada`s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”), and the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and only as described in this Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) is the for us relevant authority in matters of data protection. You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the OPC (www.priv.gc.ca/en). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the OPC, so please contact us in the first instance.

If you contact us, we process the following data from you for the purpose of processing and handling your enquiry: Name, contact details -if provided by you- and your message. The legal basis of the data processing is our obligation to fulfil the contract and/or to fulfil our pre-contractual obligations and/or our legitimate interest.

If you are using and installing our Extension we collect: Your session data (usage behavior, length of stay, which links were clicked on, etc.), your abbreviated and unabbreviated IP address, your browser version, your operating system, your platform-specific settings, your cookie IDs, your pixel IDs. This data does not allow any direct inference to your person and is processed to improve our Platform offer and to defend against attempted attacks on our web server. The legal bases for the data processing is our legitimate interest in providing our website.

When you are making a donation

If you decide to support us via Buy Me a Coffee, the following data is processed: Amount of donation, Browser language, Extension name, Browser type and version, Operating system and version, and Identifying information about the devices that connect to the payment service provider. The legal bases of the data processing is our obligation to fulfil the contract and/or to fulfil our pre-contractual obligations and/or our legitimate interest.

System notifications

By using Quizzard, you are giving your consent to receiving system notifications. Those typically include administrative and promotional information about Quizzard, warnings and alerts as well as other relevant notifications relating to your account or profile activity on the website. The system notifications are designed to enhance your experience. You cannot opt out of receiving system notifications, and the only way to stop receiving them is to delete Quizzard via your browser extension settings. The legal bases for such notifications are our obligation to fulfil the contract and your consent.

Data Security

We secure our website and other systems through appropriate technical and organisational measures against loss, destruction, access, modification, or distribution of your data by unauthorized persons. However, and despite regular checks, complete protection against all dangers is not possible.

How and why do we process your data?

• To improve and to evaluate our Quizzard, extension updates, emergency downloads, uninstallation information, and issue reports you send to us.
• For technical purposes, such as, but not limited to, preventing security attacks, to improve our website to ensure security.
• For communication and assistance purposes.
• For assisting you with any issues you may have.
• For receiving donations that you send to us and for fraud detection.
• To promote Quizzard.
• In connection with our social media pages, social networks use the data for market research and advertising purposes.

Passing on of data

Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties,

• if you have given your express consent to this;
• if the disclosure is necessary for the fulfilment of contractual obligations;
• if we are legally obligated to disclose the data;

Third Party Recipients

We maintain our social media profiles in order to communicate with visitors to these profiles es and to inform them about our offers in this way it is our legitimate interest.

If you believe that the information, we hold about you is inaccurate or that we are no longer entitled to use it and want to request its rectification, deletion, or object to its processing, please do so by contacting us. For your protection and the protection of all of our users, we may ask you to provide proof of identity before we can answer the above requests.

Our services are aimed at people aged 18 and over. We will not knowingly collect, use or disclose personal data from minors under the age of 18 without first obtaining consent from a legal guardian through direct offline contact.

Databases or data sets that include Personal data may be breached inadvertently or through wrongful intrusion.
